Chevron announces 300 employee positions eliminated from three counties, including Kern County

UPDATE (November 30, 2017 9:35 a.m.): In a statement, Chevron says they estimate approximately 300 employee positions will be eliminated from the three counties in which the San Joaquin Valley Business Unit operates. 

On November 30, 2017, the first notifications will be given to over 100 employees. Chevron has successfully placed over 100 employees in other positions at other Chevron locations. 

The positions that begin to be eliminated in January of 2018, according to Chevron.

Chevron has announced its business unit will be having employee job cuts. Chevron's San Joaquin Valley Business Unit announced a new organizational model that has a 26% reduction in employees within the business unit. 

The job cuts will be across the entire San Joaquin Valley Business Unit in three counties including Kern County, Fresno County, and Monterey County. 

The total number of employees affected by the layoffs is still unknown and will not be known until the end of the year. 

Chevron however, continues to push their employees to apply for other positions within Chevron.
