UPDATE 9:10PM- According to CHP, a SUV was heading East bound on East California where the individual ran a red light and hit a white car that was attempting to make a left turn from California to Chamberlain.

The SUV  lost control and flipped over the divider in the road.

At least three people have major injuries. One child was ejected and was unrestrained.

Drugs or alcohol were not a factor of the individual driving the white car.

CHP is unsure if drugs or alcohol were a factor of the individual driving the SUV.

UPDATE 8:11PM- Westbound lanes from Mt. Vernon to California are shut down.
