Misssing woman found alive a week after being reported missing

UPDATE (Oct. 31, 2016): This morning, the Ridgecrest Police Department says 69-year-old Barbara McPheron has been found.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the Hummer of McPheron was found near Adelanto on Saturday, five days after she was reported missing.

Officials believe she may have been trapped in her Hummer the entire time.

She suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover and is currently at ICU, according to her nephew Jeff Hansen.

Her nephew also shared that a hiker came across her in her car and called 911.

Ridgecrest Police Department originally shared that McPheron used OnStar to to contact 911, but Phil Colley, an OnStar representative, stated that McPheron does not currently have OnStar in her Hummer. They believe she used her personal phone to contact emergency services.

The California Highway Patrol is looking for a woman who was last seen in Ridgecrest.

A Silver Alert was issued Tuesday afternoon for 69-year-old Barbara Joyce McPherson.

McPherson was last seen at 249 E. Kashmir Lane in Ridgecrest. The CHP reports that she may have been in a crash just before noon Tuesday.

McPherson is white, with gray hair and blue eyes. She's about 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds. 

She was in a red Hummer with the license plate 8265MDP.
