The City of Shafter has canceled water customers need to boil their water.
On Dec. 19, the City of Shafter asked their water customers to use boiled or bottled water for drinking or cooking.
This was due to the results of routine water tests showing positive results for total coliform.
The city's boil water notice was canceled Tuesday following the satisfactory completion of water system inspection and thorough water quality testing which revealed no detectable presence of total coliform.
Health officials have advised the City that it is no longer necessary to use bottled water or boil water for consumption. The city is also wanting residents to know that at no time was the presence of E. coli detected in the water system.
