Houchin Community Blood Bank is asking the community for blood donations as part of their “Carve Out Time to Save Lives” blood donation drive.
Donors who give blood, platelets, or plasma will receive a coupon for a free individual pizza at Rusty’s Pizza.
Donors who show up in costumes will receive an extra treat bag with a coupon for a free medium slush at Sonic and a free Premium Salad from McDonald’s.
The biggest concern is the lack of platelet and O blood type donations.
There are two donation locations at 5901 Truxtun Avenue and 11515 Bolthouse Drive.
The locations are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Donors must be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be 16 years or older.
