Community members came together in order to voice their concerns regarding local law enforcement in an event hosted by Faith in the Valley.
Last week, new Bakersfield Police Department chief, Lyle Martin, was announced.
Many residents hoping to get his attention with a list of proposals that were discussed during the town hall taking place at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Although they would have liked Chief Martin to attend, that was not the case.
Regardless, they marched from the church to BPD headquarters leaving a poster of their proposals on their front steps.
This town hall comes in light of officer-involved shootings.
