Congressman Kevin McCarthy will be joining Bakersfield postal leaders to combat mail theft in the city.
McCarthy's office announced he will join Bakersfield Postmaster Lynda LaForce and postal service inspectors on Friday, August 19th to talk about the steps that are being taken to combat mailbox destruction and mail fraud.
They will also talk about what is being done to support those who have been impacted by the trend.
The press conference will be held at the Pegasus Postal Office located at 3400 Pegasus Drive at 10 a.m.
