New court documents have been released regarding the assault of a one-year-old in a Buttonwillow Super 8 motel.

The man accused of the crime pleaded not guilty earlier in August. The child was taken to Mercy Southwest Hospital for skull fractures as well as bleeding and swelling to the brain.

Kern County Sheriff’s Office is requesting a search warrant of 26-year-old Richard Graham’s cell phone, computer, and anything else to help figure out how the child sustained the injuries.

Deputies also want to search the motel room, according to the court document.

Another subject was also questioned but has not been taken into custody or charged. Deputies are requesting search warrants for his phone and computer as well.

The child has since been taken to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.
