Fresh off Cal State Bakersfield's first-ever trip to the NCAA men's basketball tournament, the school has awarded its head coach with a 5-year contract extension.
Rod Barnes had two years left on his current deal. The new contract will keep him at CSUB through 2023.
Barnes led the Roadrunners to this year's NCAA Tournament where the team lost in the first round to Oklahoma University.
Barnes will be speaking about his new deal at CSUB's Icardo Center starting at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
