CSUB to hold record commencement ceremony

A record number of students will be participating in graduation ceremonies from California State University, Bakersfield on Friday. 

This year, 2,415 students have earned their degrees. 

Ceremonies are scheduled for 7 a.m. on the soccer field at CSUB. A second ceremony will take place at noon. 

This year CSUB officials have banned multiple items from ceremonies. 

Students and attendees to the graduation cannot bring the following items to ceremonies: signs, umbrellas, strollers, balloons, air horns, outside food and drinks, beach balls, tripods, selfie sticks, fireworks, smoking, weapons. 

Traffic will be shut down and traffic controls will be in place around CSUB.

Camino Media will be closed to thru traffic at Haggin Oaks and Scarlet Oak. It will be open for commencement traffic and parking. There will be traffic controls on Stockdale Highway before and after ceremonies. There will also be traffic controls at Gosford and Kroll Way.
