A Delano High School District employee accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor has pleaded not guilty on Monday.

Police said 28-year-old Bobby Scott Perigo was having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student at Delano High School.

Perigo was arrested last week on several felony charges, including unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

23ABC News has learned the high school district employee is a former CHP officer.

Investigators said another Delano high school district employee knew of the relationship but failed to report it.

30-year-old Juan Brito was arrested for delinquency of a minor and witness intimidation but he posted bail and is also facing criminal charges.

"He needs to get punished with all the law too because he looked the other way," said Jenny Vega, parent of DJUHS.

This isn't the first time an allegation like this has been made against an employee at Delano High School.

Delano police tell 23ABC News that in September of 2014 Delano High School employee Alex Lopez was under investigation for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a underage female student.

At the time, several students and parents speculated Lopez was responsible, but police closed the investigation due to lack of evidence.

Perigo is due back in court April 7th, and as of now there is still no word when Brito will appear in court.
