Houchin Community Blood Bank is celebrating National Sandwich Day, and the public is invited to save lives by donating blood, platelets or plasma today, November 3, to receive a coupon for a free regular sub from Jersey Mike's Subs.
The coupons are good at any of the three Jersey Mike's in Bakersfield.
Blood donors must be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be 16 years of age or older. Donors under 18 must have a parental consent form.
Hours at the two Bakersfield donor centers are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the celebration. The Truxtun Donor Center is located at 5901 Truxtun Avenue, and the Bolthouse Donor Center is at 11515 Bolthouse Drive.
