Happening today, the final springtime snow survey is getting underway in the Sierra Nevada mountains and it's expected to be record breaker.

Last month, state officials measured 94 inches of snow near Lake Tahoe.

The state says today's survey could be twice as high as normal for this time of year.

It would great news for our water supply, but it could lead to flooding this summer as snow melts.
