Fire crews were called out to a brush fire near Highway 58 earlier this afternoon. 

The fire broke out between Oswell and Mount Vernon off ramps. 

Both Kern County Fire Department and Bakersfield Fire responded to the area. 

Officials say several trailers were threatened but none were damaged. The fire was put out and there were no injuries.
