Kern County Fire crews are working to determine what caused a home in Wofford Heights to go up in flames on Monday.

According to fire officials, the home went up in flames just before 6 p.m. in the area of Evans Road and Mountain View Lane. Crews say when they showed up to the scene they found the home and a detached garage on fire.

Nobody was inside the home at the time. No injuries were reported.

County fire officials say witnesses said they saw two juveniles, believed to be between 11 and 14 years old, in the area before the fire.

They believe the fire was caused by an act of arson.
