On September 19, 1955, James Dean stopped at the Casa de Petrol on Ventura Boulevard at Beverly Glen to fill up his tank before setting out on his drive up the coast. The 24-year-old was killed later that day when a truck hit his Porsche Spyder.
The station was demolished last month.
