UPDATE (Nov. 28, 5:04 p.m.) -- The missing Phoenix hiker has been found dead by search and rescue crews.

Search and rescue crews are searching for a missing hiker believed to be somewhere in Sequoia National Park.

Vince Scalise, 41, was supposed to return Wednesday from a five-day backpacking trip, but has not been seen.

Scalise is from Phoenix, Arizona.
