Local families will be able to safely get rid of their holiday cooking oil at the 2017 Holiday Cooking Grease event starting on Monday Nov. 27.

Disposing of used cooking oil and grease down kitchen drains can clog pipes and cause backups.

Instead, residents are invited to collect their used cooking oil in sealed containers and drop them off at the location below between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The site will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. The event will end on Jan. 5, 2018.
