It's Friday, which means date night. However, the weather can be a hindrance when deciding what to wear.

To take some of the stress out of preparation, here's a few tips from GQ to make sure you'll only be sweaty from anticipation.

Layer up

Putting on multiple layers seems as if it is counterintuitive. However, if you go someplace with air conditioning, you'll make sure you don't shiver the whole time. It also helps keep moisture from spreading to your outer layer.

Wear light-colored and lightweight clothing

The darker the clothing, the more sunlight it absorbs. The more sunlight absorbed, the hotter you'll get. Breathable fabric is also a must. Stick to cotton fabric, the material absorbs your sweat and makes you feel cooler. Viscose is also a good warm weather fabric as it's thinner, and lighter, than cotton.

Be sneaky with your socks

While some people might opt for sandals and go sock-free, if you absolutely have to wear socks then it's best to invest in no-show socks. Not only do they allow your ankles some breathing room, they also prevent your feet from getting too stinky.

Wipes

Wipes will be your best friend. You can use them for your face, neck, armpits, lower back, basically anything that has unwanted excess moisture. The wipes will not only cool you down, they'll also keep you smelling fresh and clean.
