An injury accident was reported Thursday night near Oleander Avenue and Brundage Lane in Central Bakersfield.

Brundage Lane was closed near Oleander Avenue following the accident.

At first the accident was first labeled as a hit and run, but the suspect came back and turned himself in, according to BPD. The suspect allegedly hit the pedestrian in a crosswalk on Oleander Ave.

The pedestrian was taken to Kern Medical with major injuries.

The accident happened near 2006 Brundage Lane.

Officials are unsure if drugs or alcohol played a factor and what the suspect’s speed was when he hit the victim.
