UPDATE (4:00 PM): The FAA says an Australian registered GippsAero GA10 crashed near Edwards Air Force Base around 12 p.m. on Monday. Officials say those on board the plane, parachuted out of the small aircraft before it crashed.
The Kern County Fire Department says a plane crashed at the Edwards Air Force Base early this afternoon.
