The Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation is reaching out to the public to gather items for Hurricane Matthew evacuees.

Evacuees are in need of diapers, wipes, cots, blankets, water, clothing, hygiene care products, trash bags, over the counter medications, and packaged non-perishable food.

The designated drop-off location is at the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center at 6501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California 93309.

The public can drop off items between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. between October 24 and October 31.

Their goal is to fill two 26-foot storage containers and deliver them to North Carolina.

Online cash donations can be made at the foundation's website.
