On April 28th, 2016 at about 2:53 am, a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol in southeast Bakersfield located a vehicle which had been reported stolen in Visalia, CA.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of Fairfax Rd. and Highway 178.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 38 year old Alejandro Pacheco, initially started to pull over but then accelerated and attempted to flee.

The deputy initiated a pursuit. The suspect vehicle drove west on Highway 178 to Highway 99, and then north on Highway 99.

The pursuit continued through the Shafter, Wasco, and Delano areas, covering freeways and rural roads.

Deputies pursued the suspect vehicle into Tulare County, where the suspects eventually abandoned the vehicle. With the assistance of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were able to arrest Pacheco and two additional passengers who had fled the vehicle.

Pacheco was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and felony evading, 27 year old Valerie Salinas was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and an outstanding warrant, and 24 year old Jessica Magana was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.

All three suspects were booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility.
