On June 15, 2017, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit received information from a local farmer regarding a truck and a chemical trailer stuck in a field near Millux Road and Hill Road.  The farmer was not familiar with the subject driving the truck and requested law enforcement respond.

When Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Detectives arrived, they contacted the driver of the truck, JOSEPH GEIGER (47) of Taft, California.

Through the investigation, Detectives learned GEIGER was not an employee of the farming company and the chemical trailer had been stolen.  The trailer was valued at approximately $2,000.00.

Detectives arrested GEIGER for PC 496d(a), possession of stolen vehicle/trailer.  GEIGER was booked into the Taft jail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit at 661-392-4365.
