Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with the butane honey oil operation in Oildale.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Tyler Martino, 32-year-old David Dorsett and 28-year-old Desarae Matney were arrested and now face multiple charges.

The bomb squad was called out to Highland and McCray just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, near North High School, according to KCSO.

Originally a juvenile welfare check, KCSO discovered a "large" butane honey oil lab.

Homes near the area were evacuated due to hazardous and explosive material being found inside the operational, illegal drug lab.

The lab was being used to extract pure THC from processed marijuana, KCSO said.

Martino faces charges including manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of marijuana for sale and maintaining a residence for the purpose of drug sales.

Dorsett faces felony child endangerment, possession of marijuana for sale, and possession of over 28.5 grams of marijuana.

And Matney faces felony child endangerment, possession of marijuana for sale, and possession of over 28.5 grams of marijuana.
