The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide at Cottonwood Rd and Cannon Ave.

Deputies were dispatched to the area at 8:20 PM on Friday night. They arrived to find a male victim in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to Kern Medical where he died of his injuries, according to KCSO.
