UPDATE: The two deputies involved have been identified as Deputy Oscar Carrillo and Deputy Cameron Beck. Both are four year veterans of the Sheriff's Office.

Two Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies are on paid administrative after they shot a man in Rosamond early Tuesday morning.

According to KCSO officials, the deputies were responding to a report that a man was threatening someone with a gun on 15th Street West in Rosamond.

When deputies showed up the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Samuel Johnson, took off in a car. After a short chase, Johnson pulled over in the 3200 block of Discovery Way and pulled a shotgun on deputies. Deputies then fired several shots at Johnson, hitting him at least once.

Johnson was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital where he is being treated for moderate, non-life threatening injuries.
