BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — KCSO says crews have recovered a body above Sandy Flat in the Kern River.

According to officials on Thursday around 12:45 p.m. KCSO Bakersfield Search and Rescue and Kern Valley Search and Rescue were called regarding the body found in the river.

At this time, officials say that the body is male but the age is unknown.

The identity of the victim will be pending notification by the Coroner’s Office.
