The Kern County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a $100,000 grant from the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) to battle alcohol-related crime through their Grant Assistant Program (GAP).

The grant will help strengthen local law enforcement efforts by combining local police and ABC agent efforts.

The funds are used to reduce the number of alcoholic beverage sales to minors, illegal solicitations of alcohol, and other criminal activities.

The GAP Program has distributed over $20 million to local law enforcement for alcohol-related crime.
