Arrest made in stabbing of man in East Bakersfield

UPDATE (August 22, 11:24 a.m.): After an investigation, detectives were able to identify 41 year old Andres Esparza as the suspect in the stabbing of Brian Keith Bland. 

An arrest warrant was issued for Esparza and on August 20, 2017 the Sheriff's Office Gang Investigations Unit located Esparza at the residence on Sugarloaf Ln. 

After a brief foot pursuit, and with the help of deputies from metro patrol Esparza was arrested.

Esparza has been booked into the Central Receiving Facility for a no-bail warrant charging him with murder as well as two other unrelated warrants.

UPDATE (August 14, 4:00 p.m.): The Coroner has identified the man killed as 52-year-old Brian Keith Bland of Bakersfield.

According to KCSO a man is deceased after showing up to his ex-girlfriends home.

Officials say that the women's current boyfriend was home, and it is unknown who stabbed the man.
