On May 6th, 2016 at about 9:30 am, Kern County Sheriff’s deputies working at the downtown courthouse became aware that a deputy on duty, 26 year old Deputy Sheriff Gideon Allday, was displaying unusual behavior.

Deputy Allday was contacted and evaluated. After evaluation it was determined Deputy Allday was under the influence and unable to care for himself.

He was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility.

Deputy Allday has been employed by the Sheriff’s Office since February of 2012. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
