A Kern County Sheriff's deputy tried to stop a driver in a stolen vehicle near Washington and Potomac.

A short vehicle pursuit ensued, and the driver wrecked the vehicle on Washington Street, just north of Cole Street.

The female driver ran, and deputies were unable to locate her.
