The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in east Bakersfield

Official said around 1:18 a.m. deputies were dispatched to 1313 Uffert Street near Niles St. and Oswell st. for a victim of a shooting. 

When deputies got on scene they found and adult Hispanic man inside of a residence suffering from gunshot wounds to his body. 

Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies, Hall Ambulance and Kern County Fire Department firefighters attempted CPR to save the victim, but they were unsuccessful. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. 

At this point in the investigation, no suspects have been identified. 

The Kern County Coroner's Office will released the identity of the victim at a later time.
