Kern County Sheriff's Office recovers two of three firearms stolen from unmarked KCSO vehicle

The Kern County Sheriff's Office has recovered two of the three stolen firearms which were taken from an unmarked KCSO vehicle on Monday. 

Officials said on Friday night the Kern County Sheriff's Communication Center received a call advising a location for some stolen firearms.

Deputies responded to a residence near the area of Rosedale Highway and Rudd Avenue.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a Colt AR-15 rifle and a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun.

The firearms were confirmed to be those stolen from an unmarked Kern County Sheriff's Office vehicle on October 17, 2017.

A 16 year old juvenile was taken into custody for possession of stolen property and booked into Juvenile Hall.

Officials did not state whether or not the juvenile that was taken into custody was the same person seen in the surveillance pictures KCSO released Friday. 

The Glock 27 pistol remains outstanding and the investigation is still ongoing.
