Kern County Sheriff's Office search and rescue responding to a river rescue in Keyesville

UPDATE (12:03p.m.): At about 11 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of Keyesville North in the Lake Isabella,  Kern River Valley area for a  57-year-old Tehachapi man stuck in the middle of river on a rock.

Kern Valley search and rescue, along with Kern County Fire Department responded to the scene.

Kern Valley search and rescue placed a boat in the water and and affected the rescue.

The man complained of pain to his rib cage area but declined medical aid upon the rescue.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office search-and-rescue unit would like to remind the public that although water levels have come down significantly from this summer's peak flow, the river is still highly dangerous.

We encourage people to use extreme caution when around the river.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue crews are responding to Keyesville for reports of a person in the river.  

Search and rescue officials confirmed they were en route to the call.

Officials said initial reports are that one person is partially in the water.
