The Kern Water Authority is celebrating 20 years of having a water conservation plan today, Friday October 20, 2017.
Officials will be celebrating by hosting a BBQ lunch, wildlife viewing, and will give remarks as well.
The celebration will be happening between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Kern Water Bank.
Bakersfield Congressman and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Congressman Jim Costa, Congressman David Valadao, are all expected to be at the celebration.
The Kern Water Bank is the nation's largest direct recharge water storage system, and is helping put forth a long-term future for both people and wildlife.
