The public is invited to attend National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremonies this week.
More than 2,000 people were killed in a surprise attack in Oahu, Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941.
On Thursday, Dec. 7 this week, those lost lives, as well as those who survived, will be honored 76 years later with two ceremonies in Bakersfield.
The first ceremony will be held at History Union Cemetery on King and Potomac Streets at 9:50 a.m.
The second will be held at the Kern County Veteran's Memorial at M and Truxtun Streets at 12:15 p.m.
