Missing 45-year-old Bakersfield man found dead south of Gorman

UPDATE (Nov. 2, 10:20 a.m.): Jeffrey Blanton was found dead near Smokey Bear Road and Pyramid Lake Road Thursday morning.

Bakersfield police received reports that the body of a decreased male was found in the area and identified the body as Blanton.

The location was near where his vehicle was found on November 20.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death.

Local police are looking for a missing adult who was last seen on November 18 in the 5600 block of Pinion Springs Way.

A relative reported Jeffrey Blanton left his home voluntarily in his vehicle, and called a relative to tell her he was in Los Angeles the next day.

On November 20, California Highway Patrol officers located Blanton’s vehicle parked near Castaic Lake. Deputies did not find him in the area.

There were no signs of foul play and no indication he had been harmed.

Blanton is described as a 45-year-old white male, 6’1”, and 200 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
