22-year-old Richard Mendez is behind bars this morning, following a search warrant in East Bakersfield.

Just before 6:30 Sunday evening, police officers discovered what they described as a large amount of prescription narcotics and a short barreled shotgun, with several rounds of ammunition.

Mendez is now facing multiple firearm charges, narcotic sales and gang related charges.
