On September 30, 2016, Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a man down in a truck located in a field in the area of Benner Avenue and Schuster Road, on the outskirts of Delano.
Deputies arrived and located a deceased male suffering from a gunshot wound.

After an investigation, it was determined the victim was shot by an unknown suspect. The case has been turned over to homicide detectives and is under investigation.
