Joel Gonzalez was sentenced today to one year in jail and three years probation after a deadly hit and run back in January.
Gonzalez pleaded no contest last month to one count hit and run with serious injury and driving without a license.

31-year-old Sabrina Marie Gonzalez was walking near Cottonwood Road and White Lane when she was struck by a vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital where she later died.
The suspect fled the scene but was later located and booked into Kern County Jail.
Alcohol was not a contributing factor but the investigation determined the pedestrian was at fault.
