A Merced man is dead after he was shot and killed in Delano late Thursday night, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

The man, Alonso Estrada, 29, parked at the Chevron Gas Station at 9th Avenue and Fremont Street, around 11:30 p.m., according to the Delano Police Department.

A light colored four door vehicle pulled up along the curb, people inside the car called Estrada over. Once he was near the car, those inside the vehicle shot Estrada, killing him.
