Mercy Hospital Southwest announced its achievement of Baby-Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA.

Baby-Friendly hospitals are recognized for being the gold standard concerning infant breastfeeding and bonding practices in birthing units.

Mercy Hospital Southwest has put in place all ten steps to successful breastfeeding put in place by the organization and has met all requirements of purchasing breast milk substitutes.

The hospital celebrated this achievement Friday.
