Westside Parkway was reopened on Saturday morning after Bakersfield Police shutdown both directions because of flooding.

BPD shutdown both directions of the Westside Parkway at Stockdale Highway Friday.

BPD says nearly two feet of water was covering the road, and crews say mud and debris has washed up near the Highway.

Heavy rain was reported in the area prior to the closure. 

A Sergeant with BPD says heavy equipment was called to the scene.

The parkway has since been reopened.
