A car fire broke out at in the Target parking lot at Valley Plaza Mall this afternoon, July 8. 

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a Mitsubishi car was fully engulfed when they arrived on scene. 

The fire spread to the parked Volkswagen car to the left of it. The drivers side of the parked Toyota, to the right, got exposure damage from the flames. 

BPD says no one was injured and that no one was in the cars when they caught on fire. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears the initial fire started on the dashboard.
