A murder charge has been dropped against a woman accused of shooting and killing her adult son, the District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
Joice Rush, 69, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of her son, Brian, 31, in East Bakersfield in June.
Attorneys said there was insufficient evidence against Rush during a court hearing Tuesday morning.
The murder charge has subsequently been dropped -- and officials said they likely won't re-file charges at this point.
