National DEA Drug Take Back day is Saturday, multiple locations to drop off unused medication

Do you have unwanted medications of prescriptions taking up space in your cabinet at home?

Has you doctor ever changed your prescription, leaving you with full or partially full bottles of prescription medication?

Well Saturday, you have the chance to get rid of them safely. 

The National DEA Drug Take Back Day is Saturday and many places will be accepting your expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutically controlled substances. 

The hope is to properly dispose of the unused medication so that it doesn't fall into the hands of juveniles.

You can drop off your unwanted medications at the following locations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.: 

Sheriff's Office Headquarters, 1350 Norris Rd. in Bakersfield

Delano Substation, 455 Lexington Street in Delano

Kern Valley Substation, 7046 Lake Isabella Blvd. in Lake Isabella

Wasco Substation, 748 "F" Street in Wasco

Buttonwillow Substation, 181 E. First Street in Buttonwillow

Taft Substation, 315 N. Lincoln Street in Taft

Tehachapi Substation, 22209 Old Town Road in Tehachapi

Boron Substation, 26949 Cote Street in Boron

Mojave Substation, 1771 Highway 58 in Mojave

Bakersfield Police Department, located at 1601 Truxtun Avenue
