North of the River Recreation and Park District (NOR) will be hosting its annual summer kickoff with a free community swimming event on Saturday, June 11th from 11:00a – 1:00p.

This year Operation Just Keep Swimming will also include a rededication of the newly refurbished NOR pool and the introduction of a new inflatable water sports products, called Wibits.

Refreshments will be provided and the event is limited to the first 200 people (no advance reservations are accepted. Entrance will be first come, first served up to 200 people).

Event organizers advise that no one bring outside food or drink, water wings or floaties, and that all children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult 18 and older.

“We are excited to be able to offer Operation Just Keep Swimming to the community again this year,” says Lauren Cronk, NOR Aquatics Supervisor. “It’s a great way to kick off summer and also showcase
the beautiful renovation of the NOR pool. We are looking forward to a full pool and a festive atmosphere.”
