UPDATE (November 22, 2017 11:30 a.m.): The left lane is currently the only lane open on the I-5 near Alameda Ave, traffic is backed up to Penrose St. 

Travelers on the southbound I-5 can now expect delays up to an hour.

Several lanes of the southbound 5 near Burbank are closed due to an overturned big rig accident. 

The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near Burbank Boulevard. Emergency personnel are currently working to clean up the wreck, and the big rig was leaking milk.

Traffic appears to be squeezing through a single lane while the wreck is being worked on.
