In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will host a local community workshop where it will provide members of Hispanic communities with information on how to lower their energy costs through various energy efficiency programs and rate options.

In partnership with the Mercado Latino, PG&E's bilingual employees will provide information in Spanish on rate options, customer assistance programs, and safety at the community workshop. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at 2105 Edison Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93305 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

"Our mission is to mirror the rich diversity of the customers we serve here in California. We join the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month by restating our commitment to provide safe, reliable, clean and accessible energy to all of the communities we serve. These workshops help our diverse customers know and understand their energy use options and make choices that work for them," said Laurie Giammona, PG&E Senior Vice President of Customer Care.

At the workshop, customers will have a chance to receive a PG&E Simple Savings Kit. The kit offers residential gas and electric customers an easy and affordable way to save water and energy. The kit includes efficiency-boosting products that are easily incorporated into customers' homes to help reduce energy and water waste - including a high-efficiency shower head, two bath faucet aerators, two LED light bulbs and more.

"During Hispanic Heritage Month we celebrate the culture and contributions of the Hispanic community. Together with PG&E, we mark this special occasion and encourage local community members to work together in building a better California for all. The Consulate represents home for many living in their communities and it is our priority that they have access to the information and resources available to them, in their language," said David Manuel Preciado Juarez, Consul of the Consulate of Mexico in Fresno, which also provides services to Bakersfield.
